| Resting In His Presence
by Diane McKay
The Watchmen on the Wall (intercessors for Zechariah Ministries) have been interceding for my daughter, Katherine, for some time. We have been seeking her deliverance from seizures and the strength to lead a victorious life in Christ. For most of her childhood, spirits of fear and anxiety and, more recently, epilepsy, have tormented her. In 1995 the Lord brought me comfort with His Word, “Fear not, believe only and she will be made whole again” (Luke 8:50). I have held onto this promise ever since.
Katherine has always had a heart for the Lord, even more so after being introduced to our loving, Diane LaFlamme. As her teen years approached, however, she began to place the presence of God on a back burner, as the saying goes. Her life seemed to be going well, when she recently was faced with a traumatic event, which brought up all of her old childhood fears.
Satan flooded her mind with lies and false accusations leaving her feeling helpless. She received deliverance from a ‘strongman,’ when Ralph and Diane LaFlamme prayed with her. This brought her a calming peace. Satan’s torments, although lessened by this deliverance, continued over the next few weeks. At the same time, the Holy Spirit began to convict her of her lifestyle. Becoming weary of the struggle, she sought further deliverance. Through a Word of Knowledge, God reassured her that He would deliver her through resting in His presence. A couple of weeks later, the Lord brought her that opportunity.
My church shut down all its operations to enable its flock to come and seek the Lord’s face, and rest in His presence. Katherine faithfully showed up every day that week and His peace fell upon her. Katherine repented of her previous lifestyle and has become a new creation in Christ. She is now involved in a Bible study, attends church and is socializing with a group of Christian young adults.
Katherine still struggles with fears, and confusion as to what God is doing in her life concerning a special relationship, but I know Jesus is running hard after her, and is slowly but surely breaking down strongholds in her life. He is bringing her to full deliverance and wholeness of healing – spirit, soul and body.
Our God is a covenant-keeper who heals and faithfully fulfills His promises. Now I need to stand back and let God move. Let us thank Yahweh for all His love and mercy for He is worthy of all our praise and worship.
One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:4-5).
