| We Are On The Battlefield
by Michelle Roach
When I think about war and the different types of wars, I picture in my mind nuclear explosives, tanker trucks, a supply of guns, ammunition, and trained soldiers fitted for the battlefield. The list could go on and on. As I ponder this further, I become more focused on the reality of the spiritual battles that I have encountered.
I recall how, just five months ago, I received a prophecy from our beloved, Sister Jenny. God told her that I was on the front lines, that I would have many battles, but He would deliver me from each of them. I must say, this has certainly come to pass! I have had to fight one struggle after another and God has delivered me in each case. And, He will deliver me from those that are still unknown to me.
When Joshua fought against the Israelites’ enemies, as long as Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ hands, the encounter was won (Exodus 17:8-13). Reflecting on this, we see that Moses’ arms were lifted towards heaven, reverently beseeching God’s help in conquering his enemies. God fought the battle for the Israelites then, and He’s helping His children on their battlegrounds right now. He’s helping me fight my battles as you read this and he’s helping you fight yours as well.
Whether your field of combat is in your mind or with your feelings, there is nothing too hard for God to handle. Yes, we truly are on a battlefield but remember we are winners because He is with us. You may be weak and feel that you can’t go a step further but, if you look to God, He will help you achieve victory. I want to encourage everyone of you on the battlefield of life to trust God to help you fight your battles. I challenge you to cast your cares upon the Lord. He cares for you, no matter how weak you may be. God wants you to win.
Satan has a three-fold purpose: to steal, to kill and to destroy. But, this opponent is defeated and you can win against him. Jesus came that we might have life, that we might have it more abundantly. God wants you to enjoy abundant life, to come out a winner.
You can be victorious in your battles, if you line up with God’s Word, repent of your sins and surrender full control of your life to God. Yes, we are on the battlefield. But, we are winners because Jesus has already achieved the victory!

You may be afflicted in every way possible, but you are not crushed; full of doubts, but never will you despair. You may be persecuted but never abandoned; Even struck down but never destroyed. (2 Cor 4:8-9)
You may even boast of your afflictions, for affliction makes for endurance, and endurance for tested virtue, and tested virtue for hope. (Rm 5:2-4)
You will know that your King keeps His promise. He will not let you be tested beyond your strength. Along with the test He will give you a way out of it that you may be able to endure it. (1 Cor 10:13)
