| Psalm 91 In Action!
by Diane LaFlamme
Four days before Christmas 2001, my daughter, Deborah Lynn, was involved in a horrific automobile accident. My little grandsons, David, 8 years, and Isaac, 6 years, were with her. Deborah and Isaac only experienced minor injuries.
David, however, suffered critical life-threatening injuries and had to be airlifted to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta. He sustained multiple cranial factures, was in a coma, and was not expected to survive. The EMS techs were not able to get David’s pupils to react to light and his eyes would not track together. They believed that David would have permanent brain damage, if he survived.
My grandson remained in a coma for several days as we waited and believed for his complete recovery. During this time, many prayers were lifted up before the Lord, on his behalf.
The rescue workers took a special interest in his recovery. The helicopter pilot and EMS personnel called the intensive care unit several times for an update on his progress.
David opened his eyes on Christmas Eve. His subsequent recovery was so miraculous that a special ceremony was arranged to give all of the rescue workers their much deserved recognition. With deepest appreciation, Deborah and Shane, my son-in-law, presented each department with a picture-plaque of the boys. Oh what a wonderful and merciful God we have! David has completely recovered.
