And Times A' Changin'

Many of us recoil when faced with anything new, especially if it threatens our old way of seeing things. Others embrace the challenge and seek out the wisdom, reasoning and good fruit that may come from change. The church now finds itself in just such a season.

There is a refreshing move of the Holy Spirit leading the church back to its Hebraic Roots, a rich and powerful heritage from which the church became disconnected many centuries ago. At that time, the church abandoned the sanctuary and warmth of the home for the cold, distant enclave of a building (Acts 5:42). The father of the family was no longer regarded as the priest of the home and the family table no longer the altar. The spiritual life of the family was gradually destroyed along with a pronounced disregard for ‘life’ (l’hayyim). But, praise God, He is in the process of changing things! It may seem an impossible task to us, but with Him, all things are possible, right?

God is leading His end-time church back to the foundation of His Word, to its Judaic Roots, to transparency, to love for His chosen people, and real love for a hurting world. The church is coming out of the box-building and finding her true identity. Home groups are being formed in many churches amongst believers all over the world. These people are willing to lay down their lives for one another in a God-supported relationship. In order to reach out to a hurting world, our homes need to be strong and secure in Him. The harvest is truly great. The time is definitely short!

Be willing to come out of the box. Be prepared to change, to respond as the Holy Spirit brings the church through a real time of transition. For the Lord truly is restoring all things as He prepares to return for His bride without spot or wrinkle!
